Gene Manion has been
directing at the CBA for about 12 years and has been a star
teacher of the Club, Diamond, Heart and Spade series. In his former life he was a teacher
in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System. |
| Michael Starr came to
Charlotte in 1997 from New York where he left his life as a
computer programmer. He has been directing about 5-6
years. |

Russell VanSteenberg
learned to play Bridge when he was 13 along with his
brother and sister; they were taught by his father. In
college he taught one of his roommates to play, and they started
playing Duplicate at a local club. Several years ago
Russell moved to Charlotte. Russell is currently directing
several games at the CBA. |

Harold and Carol
Winecoff
In our past lives Harold, was a
cartographer and Carol a research associate in Hematology.
We've taught bridge in Missouri, Virginia, and of course North
Carolina and have self published many bridge writings. Both are
ACBL certified directors and teachers; Carol is a member of the
American Bridge Teachers' Association. |

the Charlotte Bridge Clubs.
Linda Westerfield directs and teaches at the Charlotte
Bridge Club on Wednesdays and Thursdays. She previously owned
and operated a building materials company in Charlotte.
