SECTIONAL – I am writing this before our tournament begins; so will write results next month.  I am assuming that it will be very successful!

GRAND NATIONAL TEAMS – This is last month for club qualifying.  We have two more games scheduled – Wed, Mar 3rd – 12:30 and Sat, Mar 27th – 1:00.  These games pay half red/black points.  Finals are being held for the Open and Flight B at Morganton on May 1-2 and Flight A and C at Greenville, SC on June 12-13.  We have had several of our players win the trips in the past.

RECOGNITION/AWARDS DAY – Committee members (Jean Davis & Cathy Mitchell) are planning a BIG celebration for honoring members who made Life Master in 2008 & 2009 and also the Awards for the Ace of Clubs and Mini McKinney winners on Saturday, Mar 27th.  There will be a brunch served at 11:30, Awards to follow and a GNT game at 1:00.  It sounds like a FUN day!!

CLUB MEMBER NEWS – Our condolences to family members of Ruth Gordon and Charlie Worley.  Ruth Gordon played at the club for many years and loved her bridge.  Charlie did extremely well in the short time that he was with us – winning both the Ace of Clubs and Mini McKinney this past year in his category.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with both Veda Roberts and Allen Gordon in their upcoming surgeries.  Veda is scheduled for March 1st at Duke Hospital and Allen is having hip surgery (after he plays our Sectional).

Happier News – Both Betsy Bare and Jean Davis are new proud grandmothers!  I do believe they both were girls.

I am extremely proud of my hubbie, Len Case for becoming a Emerald Life Master in Hilton Head – 7500 points!

Upcoming Sectionals – Charleston, W. Columbia, Salisbury
