GREAT SECTIONAL! – We thank everyone that came and played in it – 313 ½ tables!  The 299er games were really impressive!  I was shocked when 19 tables of 299ers showed up on Thursday afternoon and then 24 on Friday afternoon.  We can thank our teachers for their hard work and encouragement to their players!  A big thanks to Gene Manion for chairing this event.  Gene did a great job of organizing and delegating what needed to be done and worked the entire tournament – not scheduling any games for himself.  Michael Starr was partnership (which is not an easy job!) and put in many hours of his time.  Arnold Hoffmann and Jackie Key were available for whatever needed to be done and gave up some of their games to cover these tasks.  Len Case works extremely hard to help with all the director’s tasks.  Jerry Helms (as usual) entertains the players with his delightful lectures.  Sue Young did a super job with organizing the food with the help of many others – Zella Stampley, Elise Menaker, Mary Beth Becker, Mary Link, Kim Martin. Others with food or clean up - John Amon, Tom Bowers, Walt Altaski, John Ede, John Sharpe. B K Chopra, David Smith, Craig Poplin, Cathy Gilmour, Tom Snyder, and Jean Davis.  Cathy Mitchell brought her beautiful flowers.

Thanks to all who brought food or donated money – it was a success!

MEMBER NEWS – Our thoughts and prayers are with Florrie Ohliff and Belmont Thomason.  Florrie fell and ruptured her spleen and has been hospitalized.  Belmont was hit by a car and has many broken bones.  She plays on Thursday mornings and I am told, is 95 years old!  Both have a long road to recovery!

Two previous members of our club have died – John Warlick and Margaret Gray.

Condolences to Fran Bacon for the loss of her husband and Brad McKeown for the loss of his mother.

Wishing you all the happiest of Holidays!
