SPECIAL GAMES – Saturday, Feb 6 will be the first International Fund game.  There will be hand analysis printouts after the game.  These games pay both red and black points.  A GNT game is scheduled for Monday Aft., Feb 15th.  These are a lot of fun and pay both red and black points.  The ACBL Senior game is scheduled for Monday Aft., Feb 22nd.  You MUST be 55 or older to play in this game!  There will be no Charity games in February – but instead, we will have Junior Fund games.

CHARLOTTE SECTIONAL – Our sectional is Feb 25-28th.  We hope you will ALL plan on playing in it.  We have had very successful Sectionals lately.  We ask you to bring some snack foods/desserts, etc. and/or you may donate money to help with the hospitality.  Arnold Hoffmann is the chairman and Jackie Key is Partnership.

DERBY BOARD – If you have not noticed, there is a long white board hanging up on the wall.  If you have under 300 points, make sure you have your name put on a magnet and put in whatever category you fit it.  Whenever you receive a card from ACBL or see your name listed on this calendar, you move your magnet up to next category and see a Director for a free play.  Also, if you need a magnet to start up – contact one of the Directors.  Jane Ann Gawlas will be in charge of this project.

CLUB MEMBER NEWS – Get well wishes for Pat LaCroix.  Pat is out of the hospital and in the process of recovering.  We wish Ross Andresen success with her upcoming treatments. We were saddened to read that Kathryn Dayberry passed away.  She loved her bridge!

We lost the following members in 2009 =

Mel Fox, Selma Melasky, Bill Clift, Marvin Mason, Maxine Meyer, Hal Brown, John Warlick and Margaret Gray.  Some of them had been away the past few years; but were very active at one time.

TOURNAMENTS – Good luck to those who will be playing in Raleigh, Hilton Head Regional, Anderson and CHARLOTTE.
