Charlotte Bridge Association Board Meeting Dec. 2, 2009
The Charlotte Bridge Association met at the center on December 2, 2009 at 4 P.M. Present were Craig Poplin, Susan Young, Jane Smith, Jim Masson, Ross Andresen, John Glover, and Tom Bowers. Jean Davis and Kim Martin were absent. Bill Sutton also attended.
Ross called the meeting to order. The minutes for November were approved.
Bill gave the Treasurer’s report, which was approved. The bank balance is up, partly because we didn’t spend as much as was budgeted. A committee consisting of Bill Sutton, Frank Gentry, and Dave Wroblewski will decide which brokerage firm the club will use. The wish list for next year includes scoring machines and more fans for better air circulation. The Board discussed the possibility of charging less for future tournaments.
The recent sectional tournament was very successful. The Board agreed that Gene Manion did a fabulous job directing the tournament.
Ross asked the Board for volunteers to man the voting box. Voting will take place before and after the games beginning Saturday, December 5, and ending after the game on Friday, December 11.
Celia and Dennis Johnson have received permission for a 399er game on Thursdays at 12:30 P.M. beginning in mid January. Their rent will be $10 a game until it is successful.
Ross will resign at the January meeting and Jane Smith will serve out the remainder of her term. Jim Masson and Jean Davis have finished their terms of office.
The next meeting will be on January 6, 2010 at 4 P.M.
The meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Susan Young, Secretary
